Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling professional career in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film which was her first film role. Then, in a small role in the feature film Starship Troopers she struggled very hard. It was difficult for her to make the transition from modeling to acting since models were not considered to be good actors, and they were usually given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy was determined to keep trying. She made her way to bigger roles. She began with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Amy later stepped into lead roles in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than 10 years working. Amy continued to make significant films, like Crank opposite Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a recurring role.
