Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Born in California USA, Amy Smart started her modeling career in California. Her first role as an actor was in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It took some time to be a part of Starship Troopers in a smaller role. It was a difficult transition for Amy since she needed change from modeling to acting. Models aren't considered great actors and so tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did not give up and eventually she landed bigger roles in the films Varsity Blues and The 70s. In 2005, Amy took as the lead in the romance comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been looking for more than a decade. There were several major films within the Crank trilogy opposite Jason Statham. And she had a part in a series of recurring roles in The Shameless series.
